Excellent matchups in the wild card games with the Yankees and Twins squaring off in the AL, while the DBacks and Rockies meet up in the NL.

October post-season baseball. A great time of the year. Let the games begin.

No politics, no kneeling for the National Anthem. Just pure old country hardball please.

I agree, and hope the Rockies can win the play off game!

The home teams thus far are a perfect 4 for 4 with the 2 wildcard games and two AL Game 1's. Yes, the Red Sox did get rocked by the Stros in Game 1 with 3 homeruns by Altuve and a solid starting pitching effort from Verlander.

Meanwhile in Cleveland, the Yankee bats were blanked by the trifecta of Bauer, Miller, and Allen. Does not bode well for the Pinstripes, considering the fact that they did not even face the Tribe's best starting pitcher Kluber, as they will tomorrow in Game 2.

Also starting tomorrow, a couple of good matchups with the favored Dodgers quite likely having their hands full with the upstart Diamondbacks, while the defending champion Cubs go mano a mano with the Nationals, who are still seeking their first post-season series victory since the team moved to D.C. back in 2005.

The Tribe is the class of the league...I'm a Yankee fan but, I'm also a realist...nobody expected the Yanks to be over .500 let alone make the PS...the championship is going to be Tribe-Astros...and then a Dodger-Tribe WS...with the Tribe winning it all in 5.

Sonny Gray looked better then he is playing in the minor league turnstile that is Oakland where anyone of any talent gets traded for " prospects " ....That's not to say the Yankees will still have # 2 or 3 guy in there rotation next yr under 30 yrs old with talent. And if memory serves they unloaded " prospects " who were injured at the time of the trade. Sabbathia next. What a juicy plot, he goes up against his old team in a Yankee must win scenario, vs. Kluber.

If the men in gray road uniforms can steal one in Cleveland who knows it's back to the Bronx where the rabid meets the road.

You know what I hate instant replay. Like the DH and the rest of the bullshit they have shoved down the throat of the public. Maybe Girardi was going old school didn't think to bother to throw the red flag watch umpires stand around in a circle decide if the call was blown. My bigger gripe with Girardi was leaving Chad Green in the game to keep pitching digging a deeper and deeper hole. The Yankees have a bullpen issue that needs fixing off season.

And starting Luis Severino against Minny Soda was a head scratcher. The Yankee bats saved the day. Going back to Bronx county New Yawk with Encarnacion hobbled it's not inconceivable the series heads back to Cleveland for game 5 .
