You've got to remember, Sylvester, that it was Mexican nationals illegally voting in the state of California (where Governor Jerry Brown made it legal) that allowed Hillary Clinton to win the popular-vote nationwide. The government of Mexico is now OWED a debt from the Democratic Party that it would like to collect in terms of that party blocking Trump from upholding our nation's immigration laws! That nation played a MUCH LARGER ROLE in our presidential election than Russia ever could!

mgf wrote: "Donald Trump and his mob have started to avoid accountability by accusing the media of producing fake news."

The news media began manufacturing "fake news" long before Donald Trump came along, mgf. CNN was already being labelled as the "Clinton News Network" over twenty years ago! Trump's simply the first president to openly point it out!

Sylvester wrote: "It's a revolution in the name of Donald J. Trump Numero 45 and like the man said, let the states decide which bathroom and lockeroom you can go take a leak in if you can't figure it out."

The Democratic Party base deeply hates this, but it's what the majority of the American people WANT!

- Trump is doing everything he promised he'd do during his very successful presidential campaign!

Anon you said something brilliant I had not heard even Rush pontificate on nor any other talk pundits. Mexico by the very proximity to Uncle Sammy Claus with a cheap labor force to be filled, EBT food stamp cards and voting booths across the country , Mexico and it's Mexican Nationals fleeing a corrupt narco semi dictatorship had a much bigger effect on the election then Russian hackers.

I've never heard that pointed out the way you did Thank you, now if only Sean Spicer the mouthpiece read the Lezlove chat forums he could knock the left wing media over the head with that fact.

Thank you, Sylvester - I am flattered by your praise!

I have noticed that Senator Minority Leader Chuck Schumer continues to drag his feet in allowing a lot of President Trump's cabinet appointments to be voted on by the full U.S. Senate. I am guessing that all of the protesting going on has encouraged Schumer & his Democratic Party to be as un-cooperative as is humanly possible in delaying the inevitable.

I found the following column, written by Democrat author Ted Van Dyk, in today's "Wall Street Journal web-page, urging his party & the media to ditch their negative, obstructionist tactics, and accept the reality that Trump is now our nation's president:

Fellow Democrats, Your Effort to Destroy the President Is Abnormal

‘How Can We Get Rid of Trump?’ asks one headline. You can’t—except by defeating him in 2020

Donald Trump has been in office barely a month, and already Capitol Hill Democrats and liberal commentators are plotting his removal from office. A typical headline asked: “How Can We Get Rid of Trump?”

You can’t. Mr. Trump was fairly elected to a four-year term, which he will serve unless legitimate grounds emerge for impeachment. It’s time to move from 24-hour rage to serious consideration of the president’s policy proposals and, where appropriate, offering alternatives.

Critics could begin by recognizing that Mr. Trump’s agenda is not unlike the one John F. Kennedy put forth in 1960. JFK proposed tax cuts “to get America moving again” and a defense buildup to blunt Soviet and Chinese territorial ambitions.

Democrats could then offer constructive ideas of their own for dealing with the nation’s problems. Had Hillary Clinton been elected, she would be busy today trying to fix the cost and coverage problems of ObamaCare, as Mr. Trump and the Republicans are. Before the new administration has even introduced its proposal, Democrats are pretending that ObamaCare repeal would be followed by nothing and that Mr. Trump is trying to “make America sick again.”

Likewise on immigration, any country must control its borders. Mr. Trump has taken a pragmatic position that illegal aliens who commit crimes should be deported but suggested that so-called Dreamers, who were children when their parents brought them here illegally, should be treated more generously. He also proposes a short-term hold on immigration from seven countries where terrorists are active, during which new rules may be established for immigration from those countries. Rather than denouncing Mr. Trump as anti-Latino, anti-Muslim or xenophobic, let us await his administration’s longer-term proposals and engage with them in a serious way.

I did not support Mr. Trump’s election. My own Democratic primary vote went to Sen. Bernie Sanders — not because of his Brooklyn 1930s agenda but because he is an honest and authentic man who offered an alternative to the big-money, poll-driven politics that had taken over my party.

I resented mainstream media’s unfair tilt toward Mr. Trump in the GOP contest. CBS’s chairman, Les Moonves, said a year ago that Mr. Trump’s candidacy “may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS,” because he produced such good ratings.

It apparently never occurred to Trump-promoting media that their disproportionate coverage of his campaign was moving toward the presidency a candidate without experience in public service or much apparent knowledge of past and present public policy. Having helped him to the GOP nomination, the same media now are scandalized because he is doing what he promised.

My own political involvement dates to 1948, when I canvassed door to door for President Truman. I subsequently was active in civil-rights, anti-Vietnam War and antipoverty causes and served in two Democratic administrations. In all that time I have never seen such a concerted effort to discredit and destroy a new administration.

Before 2017 not only the opposition party but media gave the incoming president leeway. Nearly every modern president has had to withdraw one or more cabinet nominations. Nearly all have had cabinet or White House staff shake-ups. Presidents Carter, Clinton and Obama all made embarrassing early stumbles, which were forgiven. The media overlooked “R-rated” personal conduct by Kennedy and Mr. Clinton and properly focused instead on their public duties.

You need not be a Trump supporter to conclude that the present anti-Trump media tirades are something new and disturbing. Free and independent media are vital to our democracy. But freedom must be accompanied by responsibility. President Trump came to office with the complicity of now-critical media, and riding a populist wave that also carried Mr. Sanders far into the Democratic nominating process.

Mr. Trump is demonstrating in office what was apparent from the day he announced his candidacy: He lacks experience, knowledge and governing temperament. But he deserves the same chance to govern that his predecessors were afforded. The manufactured rage in the media and political opposition is taking us to even angrier polarization in the country, and it will last longer than four years.

- The media is doing itself no favors in endlessly promoting an anti-Trump agenda - it's only making itself look hypocritical & partisan!

Well...as George Will would say...the dopey Dumbocrats have elected their new DNC chairperson.

Of course, it turned out to be an uber far left Hispanic liberal. His deputy will be an uber even further left Muslim liberal. With the retention of Pelosi, Schumer, and Donna Brazile as master of ceremonies, we can see that they have not learned anything and nothing will change.

The whole loonie bunch are fixated on proving some kind of Russian connection or collusion that somehow helped Trump win, while poo-pooing any possibility that there were lots of fraudulent votes for Hillary.

They seem to forget that mid terms are coming up in just a over a year and a half, and no electable candidate is sitting on the bench, or waiting in the wings, or even surfaced yet,  to rerail the wrecked Regressive choo-choo. That's fine with us.

LovesWomenFrenching wrote: "We all remember Trump's infamous claim, made during the campaign: "I know more about ISIS than the generals do." Sure, folks, a real estate developer would really know more than the generals on the ground whose daily job involves evaluating the latest intelligence reports on ISIS..."

The thing is, it's not the job of the generals to set overall policy - no, that's the job of the president - and I think we can all agree that Trump understands how to defeat ISIS better than his predecessor ever did! Who can ever forget President Obama actually dismissing ISIS as: "the junior-varsity team of Al Qaeda's?"

"For a long time, Trump denied the unanimous conclusion of America's more than a dozen intelligence services, that Russia hacked the DNC and spread the information it had gained to interfere with our Presidential election by releasing info which would damage Clinton."

That leaked information ONLY damaged Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign because the information it revealed was all TRUE!

"Trump claims that most of the news media lies, and only he tells the truth, but even members of conservative media outlets like Fox News and Forbes magazine have criticized Trump for his frequent lies."

When President Trump is being critical of the news media, LovesWomenFrenching, I believe that most of his criticism is aimed at the open partisanship of the news being reported. I mean, last fall they weren't even trying to be fair to both candidates! One of the reasons why the FOX News Channel is doing so well in the ratings is because at least FNC makes a pretense at reporting both sides!

"You Obama haters out there would quickly discover that compared to 64 Trump lies in 9 days, it's impossible to come up with even half that number of Obama lies..."

Barack Obama would REPEAT the same big lie over & over again - like when he continually said in all of his speeches: "If you like your doctor you can keep him - PERIOD!" - he didn't just blurt it out one day, with us later discovering that he misspoke - no, he repeated it in speeches OVER & OVER again to pass his hugely unpopular "Affordable" Care Act - which ended up being a jobs-killing tax increase more than anything else!

"It's truly amazing that any Americans still trust Trump."

I think that has a LOT to do with Donald Trump actually keeping the promises he made last fall, while out on the campaign trail, LovesWomenFrenching! The American people value that kind of honesty!

"Anyhow, it's really nice to see a Shepard Smith, on Fox News, of all places, pointing out who the real liar is, by saying yesterday that CNN was not putting out "Fake News", as Trump had falsely claimed."

You're hardly the ONLY person switching to FOX News - they're undoubtedly the least biased news network currently in business - which is probably why President Obama hated them so much! Do you remember all of the many times he blamed FNC for the unpopularity of his political agenda?

"But I really shouldn't have maligned the late Richard Nixon by presenting him as if he was in the same category as Trump. Sure it's true that both men fit the description of being dedicated liars."

Don't forget former President Bill Clinton, LovesWomenFrenching, who was actually IMPEACHED after lying under oath during a sexual harassment investigation brought against him by his own justice department! And, as I mentioned above, President Barack "If you like you're current health-plan you can keep it, period" Obama told a LOT of whoppers to pass the ACA, which ended up destroying his own Democratic Party's legislative power!

"But Donald is really in a class by himself, because while at least 70% of Nixon's statements were true..."

Back in 1974, the liberals hated President Nixon FAR MORE than Trump is hated today. And I clearly remember Democrats in 2008 seriously hating President George W. Bush!

- As soon as President Trump is replaced by another Republican president, I'm sure the libs will hate THAT president even more than they currently hate Trump!

Well when push came to shove the demoncats just couldn't pull the trigger for Muslim Keith Ellison no matter Chuckie Schumer's blessing an anti semite associated with that negative nasty Farrakhan Ellison the favorite for the job just couldn't cross the finish line and instead the Dims chose empty suit former labor secretary Perez.

I'm sure Numero 44 lurking in the shadows was pulling for fellow traveler Ellison to get the DNC gig. Short coatails on Oh Bama , congress lost, most governorships Republican, state houses leaning heavily right except the Lost Angeles New Yawk axis of evil.

And to add insult to injury Trump's rearranging the furniture in America faster then the brick throwers can break windows and gum up the works. Plans for the border wall moving through the WH as we speak, the man is vetting contract bids. It's adios amigo to illegal alien season.

Okay, since we're on the subject, let's look at the history of Gallup Poll presidential approval ratings...

The two U.S. presidents reaching the HIGHEST approval-ratings since they began recording such things in the postwar era are George H.W. Bush - who hit the 89% mark in the immediate aftermath of Operation Desert Storm in early 1991 - and his son, George W. Bush - who actually cracked the 90%-approval-barrier in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks back in September of 2001!

The all-time LOWEST approval-ratings for an American president (in that same postwar period) were Harry Truman - who dropped to 22% in February of 1952 - and Richard Nixon, who resigned from office in the midst of the Watergate scandal - falling all the way to 24% in August of '74.

So according to YOU, LovesWomenFrenching, the two President Bushes are together at the top of your list, while Harry Truman & Richard Nixon share the bottom two rungs, is that it?

Here is my source for those above-mentioned approval ratings - (should you wish to check them out for yourself):

That party has NOBODY else to go to right now, Sylvester! There are NO LEADERS the political-progressives can turn to in their hour of need - all they can do instead is to endlessly attack President Trump - and maybe hope that his approval ratings will someday reach Harry Truman's level.

- The current & obvious weaknesses plaguing today's Democratic Party bodes well for the G.O.P. in 2018!

I have NEVER ONCE heard a liberal commentator or politician explain why every single political-precinct drowning in crime & corruption in America today just so happens to be a Democratic Party stronghold! As you just pointed out, Sylvester, Obama's own Chicago has become a deathtrap, with more innocent people gunned-down there every day than in Fallujah! And that city's solution is even MORE gun laws - just like Detroit & Washington, D.C. both have on the books!

Meanwhile, the media continues its endless war on Donald Trump, with The New York Times leading the way - yearning for the Obama years - while conveniently ignoring the actual facts. The editorial board at the New York Post today documented the efforts by the Times to re-write history:

Times presents ‘news’ that’s just propaganda for Bam

Want to know why President Trump rails about a “dishonest” press? Consider a Page One “news” story in Monday’s New York Times.

The headline, “Widespread Cuts in Trump Budget Bypass Military,” suggests news about the president’s spending plans. But the piece never says much about them — because it gets lost recalling the glories of President Barack Obama to rebut Trump’s claim that he inherited a “mess.”

The article gushes, for instance, about how Obama, after a similar few weeks in office, had practically saved the world: “The country was losing 700,000 jobs a month, and the global financial system was teetering on the edge of collapse” until Obama raced to the rescue.

By the time Obama gave his first speech to Congress (Trump gives his Tuesday), the Times claims, he already had an “impressive string of accomplishments,” including “actions that would ultimately help stabilize the financial and automotive sectors.”

Uh, no: Congress OK’d the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program while George W. Bush was president, and it was TARP that calmed the financial crisis. And the $800 billion “stimulus package” Obama pushed through in his first weeks was a flop. He himself later admitted those “shovel-ready jobs” didn’t exist.

Then comes the real fiction: “Despite his lament that he was handed ‘a mess,’ ” goes the story, “Trump inherited a low unemployment rate” and “a lack of international crises requiring immediate attention.”

Yes, the rate is down — but the share of the US population that’s given up even looking for work (and so doesn’t count in the unemployment rate) reached historic highs under Obama, and is still up there.

But the real “huh?” moment is that “lack of international crises.” The Times’ reporters (and editors and fact-checkers) somehow forgot Syria, where nearly a half-million have been killed and whose refugees are overwhelming nations across the region. And also ISIS, North Korea, Iran, China — and Russia, which the Times now deems quite the threat.

The Gray Lady is welcome to showcase opinions — but she does herself no favors by doing so in what’s supposed to be news.

- This is exactly the kind of FAKE NEWS that has discredited America's major news media outlets - and gotten Donald Trump elected president!

Well the results are in. Trump's state of the Union to congress was a huge hit. Domestic upgrading , defense upgrading, deporting dangerous illegal aliens back over the border to create mayhem back in there own casa no mi casa . Showing reverence and respect to the military and police unlike Numero 44 who seemed to have disdain for them but sympathized with brick throwers and refered to the " Crusades " undertaken by Christianity 600 yrs ago to somehow explain radical Islamic terror. Unbelievable.

Pelosi looked old, weak and feeble. Parts of Trump's speech reminded one of the 80's when Dutch unapologetic for American exceptionalism took a trip to Normandy to honor Americans facing machine gun fire from an enemy in a position of advantage still managed to rout the Nazis.

Anything feels possible with Potus 45 after 8 yrs of 44 scolding a country that not only put him power but delivered the best for his family and still failed to meet his selective approval.

Refereshing. It's your move Democrats. Come on board and help or look small petty and vindictive.
