hi all. this is from an e-mail that just came in from a (female) customer of ours. i do know who she is and yes she is a real customer and probably goes back to 1999 buying from us. a very good customer. i would second everything that she says and i would like to know what our other customers but most importantly what our directors here have to say:
OK Jennifer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,You have a deal
Oh! ! ! and by the way, wait until you've seen our latest venture into the unknown
To be titled,,,,,,,,"Sisters"
If I were a director of lesbian videos, I would find that the customer's request is too abstract to be able to do a video that the customer would really like. I've seen several videos which seem to be close or in the ballpark to what the customer wants, yet the customer seems to imply that there isn't, which would leave me puzzled and wondering if the customer left out something. It would have been more succinct if the customer simply mentioned a video that came close, like maybe Abby Winter's "Girls in Love" or some scene from Girlfriends Films, and then, in no uncertain terms, stated what she wanted changed. Otherwise, the director is left in the position of trying to use ESP.
For example, the customer says only that she wants to see "experienced lesbians". Taken literally, this tells me that the customer doesn't care how old the actresses are or how attractive, only that the actresses prefer women over men in their private lives when they aren't doing porn. Does the customer really want to see two 60 year old women who have been together as a couple for the last 40 years? Who knows.
I've seen some potential for that in the erocktavision series of DVDs. Some very hot scenes offered in their titles.
Jen, Viv seems interested in trying something. Keep us updated with whatever he is going to try.
Yep - she's right on the money. To be fair, yes, there are productions out there that come close to what she is asking for - but they all stop just short. For ex, many of the WSW efforts. As much as I like them, they still feel staged. Well, of course, they *are* staged, so it's asking a lot to make them feel totally spontaneous. But, with imagination, it can be done.I once suggested to a certain producer that he try using remote-controlled mini-cams, like the ones used in covert surveillance, to make the studio totally man-free. I figured this would allow the women to feel a bit more spontaneous. He felt that would never work. The fact that he didn't even want to consider it told me that he has a very "set" way of thinking about filming woman-woman sex.I think that is a problem the whole industry has - many people are stuck in their ways.C'mon, producers - make the filmed images represent real life once in a while, not hackneyed versions of some '70s loops. (My apologies to Viv Thomas, who makes truly wonderful fantasies. But... even *he* has gone too far in the "glossy beautiful people" direction. If he makes money producing glittery movies, more power to him. But I'd like to just see two 'ordinary' women doing each other like crazy until they pass out from exhaustion. And I think there are many other folks like me.)In case anybody is curious, I am a 51-yr-old male. My wife & I both love good F-F erotica, and she complains about the stuff we watch as much as I do. Her most-common complaint is, "Why don't they just show the girl eating pussy - real close up? I just wanna see eating pussy." I've gotten so frustrated with the whole genre that I've been tempted to start my own production company. I produce DVDs already, so it wouldn't be a huge stretch. Here's an idea I had - let the viewers meet a female couple, and allow them to follow this couple around for a while, seeing how they interact, perhaps while shopping or having lunch. The two women don't make inane chit-chat - they simply have real conversations. Then, the director would guide the women toward sex. Not *tell* them to do the horizontal mambo - *lead* them in that direction. Perhaps the director could have them watch F-F sex videos, which (hopefully) would arouse them naturally. Then, if the director has set the mood properly, the sex will erupt on its own. The camera operator, at that point, needs to be merely a "fly on the wall". Use maybe six securely mounted cameras, each with a different angle covered, and discreetly hide a bunch of mikes all around the bed. On top of that, use one of those "radar dish" microphones you see at football games to make sure you pick up all of the whispers, quiet comments, etc.To summarize: get male attitudes out of the studio, make the ladies comfortable, and help them to be horny before you roll tape. If you roll five hours' worth of tape to get a good 20-min. session - big deal. You gotta help/allow the women to get warmed up and horny *before* you start shooting. Every person on this list knows very well what it's like to be with a woman who is not turned on. She shows little enthusiasm, and won't have a good time. (Heck, that reminds me of my whole first marriage!) So, *plan* the scenes, and guide the action toward what you want to see, rather than tell the ladies, "OK, I need you to eat her out, then she'll out *you* out, then I want to you to hug, and we'll fade out from there."Chuck
