I tried to attach 2 clips, both under 4MB, to my post in
Good Scene Alerts, but kept getting the message 'The document contains no
data'. So I've posted without the clips. I'm probably making some crass,
basic error. Any ideas?

Try posting in the TEST MESSAGES, one at a time.

Quote: Hi .. we are aware of this bug. It's a javascript issue in the .NET controls. If that's too technical, in english ... it should be fixed once we get a software update in a few weeks.

Hi,

Any news on the update to fix the search program? Just wondering is all?

Thanks for the work you already do and I sincerely mean this.

Pearl

PS: Wow...I can hardly wait. It's going to be such a wonderful and useful tool when it's finally working properly!

Hi LLV Tech

This is not really a "bug" but I don't seem to be able to add attachments. Actually the first time I tried it worked (in test) but since then ... no such luck.

I don't see any problem with the file name or extensions. Tried jpeg, jpg and gif, and file names with no spaces, etc.

I do get the add attachments option and it seems as if the image is being uploaded  but nothing comes of it. Don't mean to clutter up your drive with my repeated attempts but I'm at a loss.

thanks

I see your "gif" attachment from yesterday.

Please let me know if you are still having problems with "jpg".  In the beginning, we did have some issues with jpgs which were generated on MACs. That problem was resolved.  This might be a similar issue.

LLV.Tech,

It's true the very first time I tried an attachment it worked.  Subsequent attempts to add attachements failed although recently I was able to add an avatar.

But - another attempt just moments ago in my test thread did work. The only thing I did differently is I posted w/o previewing. That was accidental but it worked. I'll give this another go round and let you know whether "previewing" seems to be the glitch (for me).

thanks for responding.

Hi, I tried adding two images, JPG's, to a post I made which had lost the attachments after I tried to Preview it first. The error I get now when I try to edit is this:

File Upload Error :
A generic error occurred in GDI+.

Any ideas as to what that might be?

Oh, here's a lil bit more info. It would appear that my test post in the Test Messages Forum in which I tried to post the same images was partially successful, though no thumbnails appeared. Also, only one of the two images made it through.

The browsers I used, both of which experienced the same problems, are FireFox 1.0.1 and IE 6.0.

Here's an update, it would appear that both pictures are indeed on the orginal post I made in the Scene & Model IDs section called "Is this Viv Thomas stuff?," in spite of the error message I received.

InstantForum.NET v4.1 is available, which has some speed and security improvements. Maybe you want to update

Thanks for the update.

We used v3.4 and made all sorts of modifications.  We even suggested many features back to the original authors of the program.

We will likely be adding our own features to this forum in the future.

This is a copy of my post in another thread:

BEGIN QUOTE

Maybe it's just me, but the 'Next page' etc. links don't work for me using the Opera 8.53 browser on Windows XP. They do seem to work using Firefox 1.5.0.2.

END QUOTE

I'll sort out the correct quoting technique another day...
